“May Mike and I …,” Ann corrected, handing him two cookies.
“We found a funny ball,” he said, and hurried back downstairs.
“A neighbor boy?” asked Susan.
“No, Mike’s been with us since Zack was three. But Zack’s the only one who can see him.”
Susan laughed. “Caitlyn had an imaginary friend too. They outgrow it -- usually.”
“Here, Mike, catch,” Zack yelled. “Don’t drop it.”
Mike dropped it. The grenade went off.
