She reached for the toothpaste in the medicine cabinet and began to brush her teeth. The toothpaste tasted odd, not minty but more like medicine. She put on her glasses and inspected the label, and discovered it was her ointment. She looked regrettably into the mirror while rinsing out her mouth, noticing the lines in her face.
She still felt woozy from the fall yesterday after missing the last step. She wasn’t getting any younger, although, in her mind, she was only fifty. She wished her son had called to see how she was doing. He’s so busy nowadays.

OMG...I have done this! I can assure you that arthritis cream tastes awful. I have also taken my evening meds in the morning without thinking. Who claimed these were the Golden Years?

Getting along in years can be frustrating...especially with kids who seem distant. Good story.
