But I'm down to the last pencil in the pack, now barely a nub. I have enough led for one more sketch if it's a simple one. None of my other pencils actually bring things to life. I don't know when I'll use it. I'm terrified to.
I'm not sure who else has survived the disaster. I haven't thought about it much, not since I started drawing. I mostly sketch people, just to have some company. But sometimes I miss nature; last week I drew a waterfall and bathed in it. It disappeared that night, as all the drawings do.

A great story. Very few of us would be brave enough to lose the security of owning that one last sketch. What a hard decision.

How very dissolved you are Christyn in the world of your art and craft. You remind me of Dostoevsky.

Very vivid, we are there with the narrator and internal emotions are well portrayed though art.

When I was little, my Dad read to me from a big story book and you have encapsulated perfectly my memory of one of the stories - about indeed, a magic pencil that brought the drawings to life. Only the little girl in the story only had one pencil - you had a whole pack! :-) Comments are closed.
