Detective Inspector Silver trudged, exhausted, into the operations room. Detective Sergeant Tom Toe was concerned.
"Why the long face, Guv'nor? No progress?"
"Nay, lad," the DI replied, in his Yorkshire accent. "Been on my feet all night, all four of them. I'm whipped. And to make things worse, I've got the boss on my back."
"You know what you keep telling me, Guv'nor? Never overlook the obvious."
"Go on.
"He may have a white hat, but..."
"You don't mean..."
"Why else would he wear a mask?" Toe said.
Silver turned tail immediately. "Of course! Lock the doors! Arrest Superintendent Kemosabe!"
