Carl grew up without a father and often imagined having one. He watched TV shows from the 60s like The Andy Griffith Show. That’s how a father is supposed to act, Carl figured, taking your son fishing and teaching him right from wrong. One day Carl got married and had a son. He used Andy of Mayberry as a role model, and took his son fishing, taught him manners and how to be a good citizen. The trouble was, Carl never learned how to be a good husband. If only I had studied Gomez from The Addams Family, he thought.

Wonder if Mrs. Carl studied any TV characters to use as a role model for being a wife and mum. Nice one, Mark.

Too much TV, not enough thought. Great story.
