Come Spring, by Bobby Warner

2/10/2020

The leaves are turning. Another autumn without you. How you loved the spring. April showers, May flowers. You loved that song. I still have the old 78 rpm record up in the attic.

I thought time would make things better. Tried dating a time or two, but when I looked into their faces, I saw yours.

Sometimes I blame God, for taking you from me, but you would scold me for not accepting his will.

Bedtime. Tomorrow I shall find and play that old record. Then I'll make it through autumn and winter and be waiting here for you come spring.

Sepia-tinted, wistful, straight from the shoulder. So sweet yet so sad.

Memories and music played throughout the seasons. This piece of raw emotion brought a lump to my throat, Bobby.

Beautifully written. There is no timeline for when mourning should end. We each need to follow our own path.
