The dragon daydreamed of retiring from the yearly grind of living in a damp cave, fending off pitchforks and relighting fires after Santa Claus’s chimney deliveries. So, he persuaded an elf that he could teach him the art of breathing fire, in return for a cottage by the sea. But the overzealous demonstration of his fiery flare accidentally frazzled his pupil, and the cottage.
Despite this, in recognition of 100 years of loyal and dedicated service, Santa re-assigned him as Chief Barbecue Lighter at the annual after-Christmas party.
Nowadays, he’s always mindful not to overcook the sausages, and the elves.
