Pamela runs into the shared living room.
“Does it offer many junk food options?”
She looks at her reflection in the $8 Walmart wall mirror, a cheddar–soaked pizza slice in hand. “Maybe... one slice a day then,” she whispers.
Seeing her sadness, her mother softens, trying to lift her mood. “Sweetheart, you aren’t losing anything. Life giveth and taketh—mostly cheese.”
