Nick’s heart raced. He felt dizzy. He had to sit down.
He closed his eyes and envisioned the troubles all around him, all the things that gripped him and were pulling him down. Then, one by one, Nick let them go, and they let go of him.

Glancing at the latest headlines, Nick felt his chest tighten. The news was overwhelming. War, famine, inflation, protests, shootings, droughts, wildfires, viruses. Closer to home, his mother lay dying, his job was on the line and a fierce storm had just toppled a big maple tree in his backyard.
Nick’s heart raced. He felt dizzy. He had to sit down. He closed his eyes and envisioned the troubles all around him, all the things that gripped him and were pulling him down. Then, one by one, Nick let them go, and they let go of him.

Stoicism, Don. I could be wrong. Bless you.

A great reminder, Don. Unfortunately, we have an overload of negative news at the moment, far away and various things closer to our homes. Hopefully, we can let them go, one by one, too 🙂

Don captures the truth to living in today's chaotic world--Let go! That's the only way to move forth rather than remaining mired in the muck.

Good for Nick. He really has a handle on how to take care of his mental health. He could probably use a vacation from listening to the news though. We all can. 15/7/2022 03:40:59 pm
We let go, they come back. It's a daily process to accept the things we cannot change. I like the idea of letting them go one at a time, like gradually dropping the weight on a hot air balloon. Up, up and away from it all! Hold on Nick, I'm coming with you! 15/7/2022 04:17:25 pm
I agree with Peggy - you need to take a vacation (and a long one these days) from the news. Letting go is a hard thing to do, but one at a time is a great idea. David may also be on to something - some are able to let go, for others, stoicism is their wall against the world.

It is a real choice we have at our disposal. If we have no way to impact an event for the better, then, sayonara.

Good story. We need to take control of what goes into our minds and what we let sit there. Lots of wonderful, good things are going on all the time. We can choose to think about them.

Let go. Wise words. We do have a choice. Thanks for the reminder, Don.

Yes, we should learn to let go and not carry too much burden. A beautiful philosophical story, Don.

How can I possibly add more to the comments already made. I can't. Such a great message, Don.
