I was trying to eat my dinner. Her moist black nose poked my arm. I looked down to see liquid black eyes framed by white. Her tail thumped enthusiastically. I looked away, then glanced back. The tail whipped back and forth, slapping the table legs. The message in her eyes was clear. I took another bite, but I could feel her stare boring into me. I sighed, then put down my fork. She had won. I reached down to scratch her head, black speckled with white fur. She let out a soft sigh of contentment and closed her eyes.

Aw. How sweet. At first, I thought the dog was begging for food, not simply for attention.

Must make you feel good. You have loved her so well that she expects it. I once used "liquid eyes" to describe a baby. I guess great minds think alike. Sweet story.

You portray the dog's appeal so well. They do know how to push our buttons.

Those eyes will get you every time and they'll always win; but their love is always returned.
