“Tried to call you many times, but your phone was dead. Were you affected by the flood?” I asked.
“All my books are gone.”
I knew how much books meant to him, an avid reader, but was relieved his loss was limited to his books.
“My house is damaged beyond repair. Everything inside was carried away by the waters. I barely saved my life.”
He had lost all his possessions, but the first item that came to his mind was his books!
“Thank God I had adequate insurance.”
