“Friday the 13th today!” Nancy screeched, tucking the duvet over her chin.
“Just another Friday,” Ben noted. “You’ll be fine. I’m sure they are taking extra safety protocols with Covid.”
“Like what?” snapped Nancy. “Do you not listen to the news? Healthcare on the brink of catastrophe.”
“You’re only there for a day procedure. Out in no time.”
“Day can turn to night stay if something goes terribly wrong.”
Ben dropped Nancy off at the appointed hospital. She stepped out of the car, unaware of a black cat passing by.
