“You’ll never amount to anything!” Mr. Peters, the high school principal, told Scott. “You are doomed to be a complete and total failure!”

Many years later, Scott started working in his old high school.

I wonder what Mr. Peters would think if he knew I have a key to the principal’s office? he thought, as he unlocked the door to Mr. Peters’ old office for the first time.

Of course, he thought sadly, Mr. Peters would remind me that the only reason I have that key is so I can get in to clean his old office.
