The seasons came and went melding into a multitude of decades. Those glasses were a relic representing a passing of time and a testimony of their infinite love. For Jon and Elyse, what was will always be, with or without rose colored glasses.
There they were, her rose colored glasses, in a box of mementos from a long ago past. The Summer of Love, 1968, granny glasses were all the rage, and Elyse naturally took part in that fad. She was wearing them when she first set eyes upon Jon...he looked fantastic then and he's even better looking now.
The seasons came and went melding into a multitude of decades. Those glasses were a relic representing a passing of time and a testimony of their infinite love. For Jon and Elyse, what was will always be, with or without rose colored glasses.

Takes you straight back to the era and into the present through a single symbolic object. Enjoyed this.

As I read your story through my plain old reading glasses, Pamela, the lovely words took on a rosy hue. When I was a child I used to take the transparent red wrapper from a sweet, straighten it out and look through at a blush coloured world.

Thank you, Sue, for your kind words...I, too, as a little girl loved various shades of pink. Comments are closed.
