Her voice is wistful; even the flames sit up to hear her tell of the vagabond King who befriended the solitary, the sorrowful and the stray. And, in the heavens, the stars' tears twinkle as, on earth, the midnight church bells ring.
There is no moon but the midnight dew sparkles as it turns to frost. In a woodland clearing, the Wise Woman hums and stirs a tiny fire. Emerging from their dens, small animals draw near and, between skeletal trees, predators shift like shadows. Hunting is disallowed tonight. Nobody kills when the Wise Woman sings her song.
Her voice is wistful; even the flames sit up to hear her tell of the vagabond King who befriended the solitary, the sorrowful and the stray. And, in the heavens, the stars' tears twinkle as, on earth, the midnight church bells ring.
