“Yeah,” his sister retorted, “and those rocks you’re stacking aren’t going to fall over?”
The siblings had worked all day on their sandcastle. It was magnificent. It looked like a fortress, complete with turrets. Passersby stopped throughout the day to behold it and praise the industrious children.
But of course their sandcastle didn’t stand a chance against the evening tide. Now, as the sun descended and the ocean lapped at the base of their creation, the siblings quibbled about the best way to reinforce it.
