The bird’s bewitching beauty got her a golden cage. She was loved and looked after carefully by her captors. Varieties of seed, fruit, and cake were offered her as food. But, in a few days, she lost her appetite and power to flit. All were at a loss to diagnose her problem. All their efforts to stir her failed. Then the eldest of them opened the cage. Lo! The bird got up and took off. But she didn’t go too far. She landed a tiny enclosure in the room. She is still there despite their coaxing her to fly away.

I think the pandemic has put us all in similar circumstances, Paritosh. When normalcy is restored, if ever, most of us might be well past our prime!

It is possible that days of captivity have made her fear the world outside. So, she neither be a free bird nor a caged one. Such an interesting read...
