Minutes later, the black birds did come and they circled, circled, circled the grey, gloomy sky as both bodies were left trembling beneath all those high pitched cries.
You were riding in your shiny, new, car without one worry, carefree and singing with the radio when the back window was smashed out into pieces, shards of glass flying everywhere in the cold December air. You were frozen and pale faced, wide eyed as you caught the massive beast flying, landing with this smack, a loud thud in the middle of a dark, lonely stretch of the highway.
Minutes later, the black birds did come and they circled, circled, circled the grey, gloomy sky as both bodies were left trembling beneath all those high pitched cries.

Gruesomely effective. You really captured the terror of the driver and the agony of the birds. I was on that dark road with you, Angela.

I agree with Candace, very evocative. Like a scene from a movie.

Thank you, ladies. Unfortunately, this was a true event so I did the best to recall my experience. It's therapy I suppose.

Truly a heart-stopping experience, Angela. I dread hitting anything out on the road, birds or wildlife. I've given up driving at night. Comments are closed.
