My daughter gasped as I opened the box, she had begged me to wear my wedding dress, it had been a dream of hers since she was a young lass. She touched the delicate lace and her eyes lit up. Taking it out of its resting place of forty years, we placed it over her head, and it cascaded down her body hugging to every curve.
She swirled with delight in front of the full-length mirror, she was happy, her eyes twinkled, her lips smiled. “Thanks Mum, it is absolutely perfect!” The dress was still perfect, my marriage was not.
