What he could not have expected. What he could not have imagined possible for one so perfectly poised, so disciplined, so rock steady whilst balanced on the flying trapeze awaiting to catch the wrists of his darling wife and passing her to his brother who swung in a perfect arc to its empyrean climax before she somersaulted in to his arms, was the catastrophic, plunge from the airy heights precipitated from marrying the perfectly wrong person. Neither had he envisioned being normally the more determined of the two combatants being forced to concede. At least he hadn’t dropped her completely.
