The Captain was dead. So was the starliner’s owner. And his son. And the officers. The hijackers rounded up the remaining staff and locked them in the crews’ mess. They took more care with the passengers, scanning their identification chips for useful data and securing anyone likely to cause trouble in their cabins. The rest of us were herded into the officers’ lounge.
Idiots. Even knowing who I was, they overlooked me. Everyone always overlooked me. But I hadn’t always been a trophy wife. I’ve always been ready to run the ship. And were they ever going to be surprised!
