"It's straight on," said Paula, his girlfriend.
"I checked the route earlier. It's left here," Gary insisted.
The road soon became a dirt track, flanked by woodland. Dark clouds gathered. Rain slapped the windscreen.
"Ok, I admit, this is wrong," Gary said. "I'll turn round."
Paula switched on the sat nav. "How weird," she said. "It says we're on PA-99-N2 in the Andromeda galaxy."
Car wheels spun in mud. "Press 'Home'," Gary said.
"Estimated time to arrival: 2,185,247 light years."
Swearing, Gary stepped out into the deluge to push the car. A tentacle slipped from the undergrowth.
