Tabata Traumata (Octameter poem), by Krystyna Fedosejevs

SPORT
Exercise I must,
for health and good looks.
Fitness centres closed,
my flabby muscles
tone in homemade gym.
Zoom session bustles:
instructor teaches,
everyone hustles.

Tabata online.
Sound not always there,
screen pic issues posed.
I wish to decline
if doctor agreed.
I’d opt to recline,
soak in bath bubbles.
Rid pain and troubles.

Forget healthy and good looking, Krystyna. I'd rather soak in a bubble bath, surrounded by scented tea lights, glass of vino in hand, than feel the pain to feel the gain. Tara Tabata.

Wish I could forget, Sue. Unfortunately I am high risk for a stroke. (What got my dad at the end.) Vino and bubble bath follow my exercise routine. Not too bad a deal.

Well done Krystyna. As long as you do get to recline in those bubbles, a little exercise can't hurt.

Thank you, Sue. I try to do my best in that regard.
Thank you, Mary. You have got it right with a “little exercise”.

    Poetry

This is the section where fiction prose becomes something else. We still expect the poems to be short, though – sonnets, perhaps, or around that length at the very most.

    Poems submitted should be
    no longer than 160 words
    and contain
    no more than 16 lines.

100 words remains the approximate target.

Please submit using the Submissions Page.
