Waves pounding the shore
Clouds drifting across a blue sky
Inner peace is mine

There is nothing better to cure an ill, whether be of the heart or body, than a good dose of vitamin Sea. A walk along the shore, listening to the crash of those waves, feeling and smelling the fragrant ocean air, is definitely one of the best keys to unlock inner peace.
Nicely done Marjan

Hello Jim: A few days ago I returned from Yellowknife, NWT. It is the capital city of Canada's Northwest territories. And I have a family who live and work there. They absolutely love it.

Yellowknife lies on the north shore of Great Slave Lake. It is about 400 km south of the Arctic Circle. Sometimes in the fall and winter, and if you are lucky, you can view the northern lights (Aurora Borealis)

The sun shines about l8 hours a day in the summer. You get use to it.

Everyday I would hike one of the many trails along a water's edge. Gordon was kind enough to post a picture along with my haiku. My inspiration was the view upon the water as I sat on one of the many park benches along the Niven Lake trail.

I am now back in the hustle and bustle of Toronto. But someday I would love to return to Yellowknife and explore some more.

Thank you for reading my story and your comment.

All the best,

Marjan

Wow - Yellowknife and the Great Slave Lake sound absolutely fabulous. It wouldn't take me long at all to get used to having the sun 18 hours a day - love the sun - though you will pay in the winter when you have the dark for 18 hours ;-).
I hope you get back and get to explore more soon.

Jim

You can always find peace in nature if you take the time to look around, especially in places like your picture, Marjan.

I like the way you have contrasted outer activity of sea and sky against inner stillness.
