The face with the large, soulful eyes stared back at me. I peered closely at it. The sepia photo showed a family of six seated primly at a photo studio. Did I look like her? No, my sister had definitely inherited her eyes. Why couldn’t I find something? Then I found it – it was her smile. I had her smile! The smile that people commented on, even now. ‘Mrs A, you taught me thirty years ago and you have the same warm smile!’ remarked a student recently. She may not be around, but I still had something of hers.

A smile is a wonderful legacy. Make good use of it. Comments are closed.
