"Do you know what that means?" The girl nods at the cut neck tie laying in the grass.
"No?" The boy asks, voice soaring.
"That your dad's leaving you, forever."
"Idiot!"
"Oh, really? I never see my dad. My mom said she cut ties."
"Neck ties? You must've misunderstood something."
The boy gets no reply.
"It doesn't make sense!" He adds, eyes getting watery.
"Don't be mad at your mom when he disappears. She did it because he cut something important of hers. Like… a dress."
