Submissions during the 2024 Christmas Competition
SORRY – DEADLINE PASSED. WATCH OUT FOR THE VOTING AND MORE COMPETITIONS IN FUTURE
From 4th December 2021 to 17th December 2021 inclusive
- during the 2021 Friday Flash Fiction Christmas Competition –
we'll only be accepting entries for 'Classic' stories of 75-100 words in length.
Sorry, but it's simply a matter of managing the workload.
We're therefore unable to accept Longer Flash Fiction or Poetry submissions
until 18th December, when normal service will resume.
For the competition, you may enter two stories (effectively one per week)
through the Storybox system (click the button below to go there).
Entries close at 23.59 on Friday 17th December. Entry is free.
Six judges will then compile a short list, and our readers will vote for the winner.
The prize is £50 in your own currency.*

Before you do so, please take time to make sure you complete the submissions form properly. By far the most common mistake is to forget to include your name as well as you story title in the box at the very top – these will NOT be published. Nor will entries that miss out that ', by " before the author's name.
But please check that you've followed all the requirements of entry. Not following the house style suggests that you haven't read any of your peers' other excellent stories on Friday Flash Fiction. Although there's a prize for the best story this Christmas, we're a community and try to learn from each other.

*If you want your prize, you'll need to be paid either by PayPal (easier) or BACS.
