"The essential challenge of Friday Flash Fiction is to write a fresh new story or poem in time for publication that following Friday."

Edinburgh International Book Festival Contest

As is now customary during most of our competitions, we accept only 90-100 word entries. On this occason you may submit either ONE story or TWO over the course of the two weeks up to 23:59 UK time on Friday 16th August 2024.

Sorry, but we need to allow ourselves to focus on those, and so we will not be accepting longer flash fiction or short poetry until further notice. Not for ever, though.

Clicking on the red box below will take you to the submissions form.

PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR OBVIOUS REASONS WE ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR CONTACT DURING THE CONTEST. THE ENTRY YOU SEND US IS WHAT YOU SEND US.
