the heart beats in excitement, in joy,
in a trance of ecstasy.
Now I’m filled with delight,
now the exhilaration has seized me with its fangs.
Delicious mouthfuls of madeleines,
past my palate, down my gullet, into my tummy;
quaint villages and neighborhoods, museums and cafes;
a visit to the legendary Shakespeare and Company
frequented by Fitzgerald and Hemingway; a walk along river Seine, scuffling and giggling,
locking lips under the Eiffel Tower.
On the other side of the world,
Paris beckons,
hoarder of moments,
how I love to travel.
