peep from the dark brown earth,
children awaken from their wintry hibernation
like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis,
and race to the emerald green
fields to play football.
The sound of laughter
rings in the new season.

As the first buds of Spring
peep from the dark brown earth, children awaken from their wintry hibernation like a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis, and race to the emerald green fields to play football. The sound of laughter rings in the new season.

Spring is a time of renewal. What better way to begin renewal than with the sound of children's laughter.

PoetryThis is the section where fiction prose becomes something else. We still expect the poems to be short, though – sonnets, perhaps, or around that length at the very most. Please feel free to comment (nicely!) on any poems – writers appreciate it.
Just at the moment, though, we're moderating some of them so there might be a slight delat before they appear. Archives
