“I’m going back for Christmas, and I don’t care what you say.”
Ivy’s dad laughed.
Ivy stomped out. She walked through the busy streets.
“Lost?” a boy asked.
Ivy sighed. “I want my old home back, but can’t.”
“You’re new too? My name is Robert.”
Ivy and Robert spent the whole afternoon together.
Her dad asked when Ivy arrived, “Did you return to your old friends?”
“No,” Ivy said. “Something even better!”
