I jump and grab at her small feet. I reach as high as I can. I hear their tiny snickers.
“No!” I scream once more. But their wings beat fast and no matter how I try, they fly too high.
They are gone and so is she.
I look back at the picnic blanket and sitting there smiling at me with a toothy grin, a little girl.
She looks like the same little girl, but I know she isn't.
