Two women arrive, both in Indian clothes – one with short grey hair, and the other with a black plait that swishes across her hips. Small crosses dangle from their necks.
They sit on either side of her and reach for her hands and she lets them, her arms stretched to either side, a benediction, mouth soft, eyes half-closed.
