The water rushes in around me, filling everything. Existence is washed away, and all that is left is water. It soaks everything, weighs it down, and for a brief, serene moment, everything is quiet. Peaceful. But then the panic comes. My mouth opens, uselessly, and the panic grows into terror. I feel emptiness overtaking everything- no, it leaves the fear; the dead reek of fear. I’m going to drown. I know it. It isn’t a premonition, it’s not a prediction, it’s a fact. My vision blurs, against my will.
Then I remember. I am a fish. I will be ok.

Wonderful, Sam! I think 'The Fish who was Afraid of Water' would be a great children's book idea. 12/5/2023 02:08:16 pm
You forgetful old trout, Sam. Is this a re-incarnation story?
