Walking home after searching uselessly for it, I encountered a child of four or so. She was standing outside a dirty alley, next to her mother who was sleeping in a rough cardboard shelter. The little cherub smiled at me and said in her sweet voice, “God loves you. He loves everybody.”
I stopped and put a worn twenty in her tiny, cold hand, and she slipped my missing faith back into mine.
