'It's safe now. The hunters have all been flushed away,' whispered the forest breeze and small creatures crept out of their hiding places to bask in the friendly sun. Shrieking his approval, an eagle soared upwards from the treetops, his voice restoring courage to the world.
Satisfied with a job well done, the gods tacked a rainbow to the clouds, turned the downpour into a golden drizzle and pulled their overloaded toolbox homewards, its wheels rumbling across the heavens as they went. Someone tossed a final bolt of lightning over their shoulder but nobody bothered to watch it land.
'It's safe now. The hunters have all been flushed away,' whispered the forest breeze and small creatures crept out of their hiding places to bask in the friendly sun. Shrieking his approval, an eagle soared upwards from the treetops, his voice restoring courage to the world.

Time for the Gods to return and give the world some more courage. Tack rainbows to the clouds of doom.

I'm with Jim B., Mimi. Great imagery. And with Sue. A discreet insertion of the capital "G."
