Outside, giant hunters prowl the rooms of the house, waiting to pounce. I’ve seen my brothers caught in their mouths. Though I shudder at the thought, I must venture out for food.
Tonight, I see no hunters, but I see the other, even larger giants. They don’t hunt, but they exude blood-curdling screams at the sight of us. I’ve heard them speak of traps and poison.
This time, they don’t see me. I find a bit of peanut butter and return to my home, hidden between the walls, the only place that’s safe.
