Falling in love inside a goldfish bowl is painful. You're robbed of your greatest ally - your coy wit. How can you avert your eyes modestly when everything here is circular, with all reflections leading back to its original source? You might still conjure up some phantom of hope in your heart, except you already know that no one can fall in love merely on principle. If that were true, how could pain still exist in this tiny bubble? Two large, shimmering teardrops streak down your face, but no one can tell - because you're in a goldfish bowl.

Given the memory span of a goldfish, painful love will be yours forever.

Hi Sue! Thanks for your comment. I hadn't thought about the short span of a goldfish's memory when I wrote this, but you're so right!

It paints a picture, I like it. Sad yet comical. (left me also thinking goldfish fall in and out of love every few seconds...in....out...in....out)
