Sometimes making it to the surface is only part of the struggle. Now how do I get out of this well?
I didn't choose to dive into the well, I was pushed. I fall deep, quick, silently. The stillness surrounds me, the cold embraces me. I have a sense of peace. My lungs rebel, so I kick my legs, against my better judgment and against what my mind is telling me to do, I rise. I emerge from the cold and deep, I take several breaths and I calm myself. But then I look up.
Sometimes making it to the surface is only part of the struggle. Now how do I get out of this well?

Great question...how does one pick oneself up from a great fall?

What a situation to find oneself in. I feel for this character's dilemma. Comments are closed.
