They were just some little white lies. White, because my intentions were pure. I practised deception to protect someone that was close to me. You can understand, I’m sure! You’ve probably found yourself in the same position with a loved one. Just a little white lie to make sure that they aren’t hurt. Funny, isn’t it, how white lies are always ‘little’. Of no consequence. No, he was here with me all night. No, I didn’t hear him go out at two in the morning. No, I didn’t wash blood-soaked clothing the next day. Just some little white lies.

My Mum used to tell me my tongue would turn black if I told a lie. I believed it for years! And, used it on my kids :)
