Lila plunges downwards, heart pounding with excitement, as the roller coaster descends. Allie in the living room where her big brother jokingly dangles a dead mouse in front of her. Kelly upon learning of a long-awaited promotion, happy tears forming in her eyes. Jaime scooping up her little one after his first steps- heart filled with love and pride amidst the giggles. Sondra learning of her father’s passing. Tina’s finally pregnant. A woman pushed into the wall of a department store dressing room- frightened and catatonic… There is no one size fits all emotional response. Sometimes the screams don’t come.

You got that exactly right. There is not just one way to process emotions or to grieve. We all have to do it in our own way and not be judgmental of others.

Screams that stay inside our heads are the worst screams of all.

I am a Sexual Assault Victim's Advocate and my hats off to you. You did an excellent job explaining that not everyone has the same reaction or an "expected" reaction. A powerful story in just a few words, good job
