I like to watch the sun rise. I can’t actually see the sun from where I sit, but it doesn’t matter. I see clouds appear in the sky. I see trees — green, red and purple — shimmer in a light from the East.
The trees and clouds were here when I awoke, and they’ll be here tonight when darkness falls. I won’t see them, but I’ll know they’re here because of the light of a sun I don’t see.
