She looks at me, head tilted. This dog of mine with silken fur. Sock stealer and sofa hog. Not now, I say, focusing on my laptop and the unfinished report. Impatient pawing at my leg followed by head nudging. The unspoken words are loud and clear. OK. That’s all I say. She is jumping and spinning around. Five minutes later and we’re roaming the woods. She explores off track but stays within sight, comes when called. All that training. You have to show them who’s boss, the instructor had said. Well, job done. I certainly know my place.

I've had the same training, Anne :) Passed with flying colours!

Yes, those silly dogs certainly do know how to train us. Fun story.

Anne, as I'm reading your story my dog is pawing at me, nudging my knees and frantically running to the door. I'll have to read the remaining FFFs later. Dogs rule.

It's been many years since I last had a dog. This brings back fond and funny memories. Thanks, Anne.

This made me smile. Think anyone who has love a dog or any other pet knows all about this "power struggle." Thanks! Comments are closed.
