He’d come to the edge of the pasture when he spotted a flicker of light, coming from a cave.
Then he nearly stumbled over his lamb.
“There you are,” he said, scooping it up.
He peered into the cave. An infant lay on a bed of leaves. A young couple stood over him.
The infant shivered. The boy stepped toward him and lay his lamb down next to him.
“To keep him warm,” he said, looking up at the woman.
“Thank you,” she said, smiling.
