Do you remember, Dad, how I waved at you, returning your smile? That was going to be my final match with NECs. Even being an aggressive lineman, I wasn’t sure I would win. I wasn’t even sure of my fatigued goal keeper, Immunknight. I fought as bravely, strongly, and tenaciously as I could. My team members kept trying to coordinate well as brothers faithful to each other. But the goal keeper missed and missed and missed. We lost the match. But, to my surprise, I was declared the Man of the Match. But I was nowhere to wear a laurel.

For some reason, Paritosh, I read this as someone fighting Covid, with the goal keeper the vaccine and the team members the doctors. And he eventually won the game.

This was an intense narration by the son. Your explanation of NEC and Immunknight made the story all the more meaningful.

What matters is one's efforts whether the match is won or lost. Beautiful story, Paritosh. Comments are closed.
