A familiar customer cautioned me that a diner would leave without paying.
Later, I observed the man slipping through the crowd. My wife restrained me when I was about to confront him.
"Why?"
"I've been observing him for many days, too. Once he leaves, the crowd disappears. They must be God’s answer to the poor man's prayer."
She was proved right soon after he left.
"Let him be a permanent non-paying diner."
