Zora was a free spirit. She loved to read, and her favorite novel was Their Eyes Were Watching God. The novel influenced Zora greatly because her mother named her after that respected author. Zora also loved jazz, and she was an aspiring musician. However, gender barriers and racial restrictions have made life difficult for her. Nevertheless, her dreams of becoming an influential artist motivated her to reach new heights. After defying social convention, Zora then went on to perform her song and dance routines at a restaurant for an entire decade. Everyone had their eyes on her.
