And though I could never see his face, make out his features in the dark of night, I knew he was watching. Staring. With empty eyes, searching my soul. Never moving. Just glued to that
corner until sunrise.
But even when the light of day whisked him away, smoky and dark, I could still feel them. Those eyes watching me.
