“You can?”
“Please. That’s not even a challenge.”
“But won’t you get in trouble?”
“I literally have a key. How could I possibly get in trouble?”
“It just doesn’t seem right. It seems dishonest, doesn’t it?”
“Do you want it or not?”
“I mean, yeah, I do, but this isn’t how I imagined getting it.”
“Just say the word.”
He paused. They always pause.
“It would be nice, I guess.”
“Consider it done.”
Everyone knew they could come to me for the things they wanted but couldn’t get to. Being the janitor has its perks.
