She arrives and notices them. Stefan smiles expectantly. She reaches out to grab one, but stops.
“Come to Nikolaikirche with me?”
“To demonstrate?” Stefan had other hopes for the evening.
Her fingers brush the rough peel, “Yes, to demonstrate for a free country with oranges for all!”
“Stay!” Stefan pleads selfishly, ignorantly. Disappointed, Petra leaves. She then walks with 70,000 others toward a better world, while Stefan, alone, cannot escape the sweet scent of oranges filling the room.
